The Tremiti islands are small group of 5 islands in the Adriatic Sea about two thirds of the way down the east side of Italy. San Domino is the most developed island and has the most popular port. The name of the islands refers to their seismic hazard, with a history of earthquakes in the area – 'Tremiti' meaning 'tremors'. With clear waters surrounding the islands, they have become a popular tourist destination and welcome numerous visitors in the summer season.
Termoli is a town in the province of Campobasso, on the Adriatic coast of Italy, in the region of Molise. Once known as a fishing port, Termoli has now developed into one of the favorite resorts for Italian families, well known for its beaches and old fortifications. Its historical old town stands on top of a cape, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The structure of this ancient town has been well restored, reserving its tangle of narrow streets and many of the houses here have been rebuilt in a range of pastel colours. The towns most famous landmark has to be the Castle, which was built during the Norman domination in the 11th century and largely renovated during the rule of Frederick II in 1240. As one of the top seaside resorts in Molise, Termoli boasts some of the most attractive beaches renowned for its purity and is never overcrowded. Whether you’re looking for some relaxing bathing, water sports or beach volleyball, Termoli is the perfect place for all.
