Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and is located on the western shores of the mammoth River Plate estuary. It’s a multicultural metropolis that has retained much of its historical European identity, evident in the downtown clash of architecture that ranges from the soaring towers of the central business district to the pink walls of the Italianate-style Casa Rosada presidential palace.

The Buenos Aires ferry port is located in the Balvanera region and is easily accessible by driving along the Au 25 de Mayo until you reach the coast. There are several trains which go directly to the port including the Belgrano Norte line (red) and the Mitre Line (blue).

Passengers arriving at the terminal building can expect to find a café, a restaurant, a lounge, wheelchair access and Wi-Fi.

The city centre is alive with an eclectic mix of cool bars, live music and a bohemian art scene, creating an image that Montevideo is one of South America’s coolest cities.

Montevideo ferry port is located in the Ciudad Vieja region and is easily accessible by public transport as it’s so close to the centre. The 21 and 60 buses both drop passengers within close walking distance to the terminal. The port is also about 4km from Estacion Central Train Station, which takes approximately 10 minutes to reach by car. There is a range of facilities for passengers to enjoy including a buffet restaurant, café, waiting lounge, duty free shop as well as wheelchair access throughout the building.
