Ferries to Capri

Lying within the Bay of Naples, the island of Capri has been one of the most popular touristic spots since the time of the Romans, and is the perfect place to enjoy stunning scenery, as well as a rich culture. Although this is only a small island, there is plenty to do here, such as hiking, snorkelling, and visiting any of the 12 churches on the island, and there are also many opportunities to visit mainland Italy, as well as other islands within the Mediterranean. With up to 530 ferries running per week, across 12 different routes, book now with Direct Ferries to find the best ferry at the best price for you.

Capri sailing durations and frequency may vary from season to season, and from month to month, so we’d advise doing a live check to get the most up to date information.

Capri Ferry Timetable

Ferry timetables can be affected by a range of different factors, from ferry route, to ferry operator, to external factors, such as seasonal changes, all of which means that there is not one single ferry timetable for the ferry to Capri. Indeed, there are up to 530 ferries running across 12 different routes, and ferries come from the mainland of Italy, as well as from the Bay of Naples, and here at Direct Ferries, we will always give you the most relevant information when you are making your booking, so you can find the best ferry for you.

How long does the Ferry to Capri take?

Ferry sail times on this route can vary between 20 minutes, to 1 hours and 30 minutes, to 3 hours and 45 minutes, and this wide variety of durations is due to a number of factors, such as ferry route, operator, and external factors such as weather conditions at the time of sail. This all means that there is not one single ferry sail time, so be sure to ask before you sail what your expected sail time will be.

Capri Ferry Prices

How much the ferry to Capri will cost is dependent on many different aspects, such as time of year, which route you are taking, who you are travelling with, how you are travelling, and so on, so there is not one exact ferry fare. I booked tickets for ferries to get from Naples to Positano (changing ferry at Sorrento). I was a little apprehensive after reading bad reviews but had already purchased tickets The tickets were easy to book online. My friend and I had a good experience using this company - the staff were friendly and helpful. We were not aware we had to pay for baggage once we boarded but it was €2 per bag - we didn’t have to pay on the last leg of the trip, we kept our bags with us. I managed to use my email confirmation/tickets to board all but one ferry, where we were told to go to the desk and ask them to print the tickets - they pushed us to the front of the queue. One ferry was delayed by 15 minutes but the ferry times are far apart enough that we still had about 45 mins before boarding our next one. It can be a little confusing knowing which pier to go to - we were told pier 5 but it was actually pier 7. I think things change at the last minute, so I would recommend double checking and keeping your eyes open. All in all, a good and easy experience

  • "Sorrento Ferry "

The ferry was great. The only problem is that the organisation at the terminal is poor. There is a big departure board showing each departure gate etc, but it never worked, so travellers were left to guess, with no information, and we nearly missed our pre-booked crossing
