Ferry to Dubrovnik reviews

  • "Please be aware"

The ferry was great but, people need to be aware that the ticket they buy online is not the ticket that gets them on the ferry. Don’t wait to board and find out at 8:30 you don’t have a ticket only a confirmation to get a ticket. Go early to the ferry and ask for the shuttle to take you to the ticket office. Make sure they are open early. When we went in September they had changed from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm opening the day of your ferry trip. Granted the ferry does not leave until 10 pm it would have saved us a trip over in the morning. Also good to know there is a luggage storage at the pier and they kept our bags till we left, just check there times also. Ferry is clean and had good food for purchase on board. We had a cabin with a sink, but bathrooms are down the hall. Just wish they would post something for people about getting ticket and make mention on the website, that it’s only a confirmation not your ticket

  • "Great crossing but shambolic checking in procedures"

Travelling by ferry from Dover to the continent is so straightforward. Purchase a ticket by internet, print it off and present it at the ferry terminal before waiting to board. At Bari we located the terminal from the map provided, found it was closed and were given no instructions about where we should pick up our ticket. It was only through luck and persistence that we discovered we had to take a shuttle bus to an office 3km away to check in. When we arrived at the office it was closed, with a note saying it would not open until 17.00 hrs. We returned and were told to line up with other cars, ready to embark at 19.00hrs. This did not happen, no information was given and then eventually at 20.15 we boarded from the original terminal. From that point the service of the Jadrolinija line was superb. Swift loading, quiet journey, polite knowledgeable staff and punctual arrival. We’d certainly travel with this ferry line again but hope they will review their ticket/ boarding arrangements and that accurate maps and instructions are provided at the booking stage.

  • "Warm reception"

The staff aboard the ship were is a stark contrast to the port staff on shore in Bari. Polite, courteous, professional, efficient, and welcoming. The ship itself was a bit dated but was well maintained.
