If you are voyaging across the North Sea then you’ll have a choice of seven ports to pick from. Three in the UK and four in mainland Europe. DFDS run a regular service between Newcastle and Amsterdam, P&O North Sea ferries include routes linking Hull to Zeebrugge in Belgium and Rotterdam in the Netherland while a fourth route is further south down the English coast, connecting Harwich to Hook of Holland, this time operated by Stena Line.
The journey time between Newcastle and the Dutch capital takes approximately 15 and a half hours to complete, allowing you plenty of time to relax and rest up before continuing your trip. If you plan on using the port at Hull your voyage between Rotterdam or Zeebrugge will take either 10 hours 45 minutes or 13 hours 15 minutes respectively.
By far the shortest trip across the North Sea is the service between Hook of Holland and Harwich with the total trip time taking around seven hours to complete, ideal if you want to keep your sailing time to the minimum.
