Condor Liberation

Operated by Condor Ferries on the Guernsey Poole & Jersey Poole routes

The Condor Liberation was purchased by Condor Ferries in late 2014 and is the latest member of the fleet to run on their routes between England and the Channel Islands. The first of its kind to sail in Northern Europe, she can hold up to 880 passengers and has space for 245 cars. The Condor Liberation has a more stable design than existing high speed ferries and as a result will be able to sail in considerably higher seas, resulting in less travel disruption. On-board the renovated interior will keep you in comfort throughout your crossing, whilst enjoying all it has to offer with its many facilities.

Onboard Cabins / Reserved Seating

There are no cabins available on this ship, however there is seating available for everyone onboard with three tiered seating options to choose from.

Onboard Food and Drink

Onboard the Condor Liberation you can eat the delicious Casquettes self-service restaurant. The menu consists of a range of hot meals, snacks such as sandwiches, baguettes and wraps, hot and cold desserts, soft and alcoholic beverages are also on offer.

Onboard Shopping

The Duty free shop onboard offers passengers a chance to purchase reduced priced goods from men and women’s fragrances to alcohol from around the world.

Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Condor Liberation guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

Both out and return were fine. Minor weather problem on return trip which meant a couple of hours on reschedule. Overall a good trip this time.

  • "A gusty day"

Condor do appear experienced in coping with variable weather conditions and rearranging sailings. Adequate warning was given. The ‘upgrade’ of seating and provision of a free snack was a good gesture. Or was this to avoid compensation claim? The staff are always jolly and seem to enjoy their multi task roles. The Liberation is a fine ship but no doubt the company now wish they had purchased a ship more suited to the unpredictable Channel weather.

  • "easy to book"

I used Direct Ferries in my planning for our trip to Guernsey. As a single mum with two boys (one a teenager!!) the less hassle, the easier life is, especially when the logistics of 400+ car miles to get to the Ferry had to be negotiated first. I booked on line and was quickly confirmed and updated. Due to car issues, I had to change cars twice before our travel. Each update was quick and easy to do and was clearly processed when we checked in. On board the ship was clean and comfortable. The hoover staff used to clean up a passengers' dodgy tummy didn't help, as it seemed t share the odour round the whole area. The staff noticeably remained unflustered and cheery throughout. On or return we were sat near one of the exclusive seating lounges- controlled by an entry pad. Several customers forgot the code. My boys had remembered it from watching others and happily shared it with the customers. Some received this well, others seemed a bit annoyed. I guess if paying extra you'd expect that exclusivity. It added to my boys' pleasure, but perhaps an entry card or something more discreet would work better.? The food we chose was well presented and well cooked, with options for all. I did later decide Id like another green tea and tried to purchase the unlimited refill for an extra pound (as the ad. stated) I learned however that you cant do that after a purchase. That seems a bit unfair to me and a bit misleading - so beware - if you think you'd like it, buy it at the time....unless of course the Ferry change their policy. Both journeys went well, there was a longer delay on etruning to Poole(it seemed they took 4 lanes of traffic down to one check point).

  • "It wasnt choppy! "

Havent taken the ferry for 30 years and the ships have changed! Really enjoyed both journeys which were on time or early. Clean comfortable seating in Horizon. Didnt eat, but food looked good and staff were friendly and professional. Now going by boat to Guernsey, it was worth the extra time, beautiful sea and island views. Already booking next year for family.

  • "Our first holiday to Guernsey"

Had two great crossings to and from Guernsey. The Condor Liberation was prompt, comfortable and smart. The car loading staff were very pleasant and helpful. On the return crossing from Guernsey on 16th July, the meal serving bar could have done with one more member of staff to serve drinks. (The person on the till also had to serve drinks and seemed a little stressed). Overall we were very happy with all the facilities and would definitely use this crossing again.

  • "Happy Chappy"

First time I had the opportunity to use Condor Liberation service. Selected Club as I really wanted see what was on offer. From arriving at Poole, parking my vehicle on-board and being directed too the Club class lounge was an impressive experience. The efficiency and friendliness of all staff (vehicle check-in, loading and club staff) was simply first class. Service in club class exceeded expectations. The need to visit my vehicle mid trip by a sensitive alarm was handled just perfectly by the staff. Even dis-embarking wasn't stressful. Fortunately the sea condition helped. I have not given 5 stars on all items: Wifi free but only for 30min period from log in disappointing, Mens washrooms a bit untidy and ship punctuality only 3 stars due to problems at Guernsey (not sure if this was known before we scheduled to arrive).

  • "Great ferry trip - can highly recommend the Club upgrade option"

The whole process has been smooth and easy from start to finish. The booking process has been straightforward, and when we arrived in Poole at the ferry terminal, we were ushered onto the ferry without any delays or problems. The ferry itself was clean and comfortable, with a very good buffet service. On the return trip, we upgraded to the Club service, and had a very enjoyable trip back being looked after very well, with excellent customer service. The only issue we had was with the allocation of seats when we upgraded at the ferry terminal on the morning of departure - we were not given adjoining seats, despite the fact that it was clear my wife and I were travelling together. The Club steward was able to put this right and found us seats together, but apparently this is an ongoing issue when upgrades are booked. Otherwise, we have been very happy with the service provided, and we're looking forward to returning to Jersey again by Condor Ferries soon.

  • "Hello sailer"

We were very fortunate to have a calm crossing, which made both out to and return from Guernsey a pleasant trip. The staff on shore and on the Liberation were very helpful. We paid extra for the horizon lounge reclining seats, and as I am 6foot 4, the leg room was superb. This lounge is at the front of the boat with a panoramic view of the sea ahead. The food on board is very reasonably priced and good. Booking in at both ports is easy too. All in all a very pkeasent trip both ways on a very fast boat. Thank you.

  • "Journey between Poole and guernsey "

Very impressed with overall experience we booked onto club class which was lovely with experienced friendly waiting staff the only point I would raise is because they are the most expensive they should be at the front of the ship with panaoramic views much better location in the ship On the way back the ship was delayed by about 40 mins because lift was out of order that meant we missed our connecting train link back to London because we had bought advanced first class tickets we could only go on that train so we had to pay out £145 for new tickets on later train Also because if lift failure getting off ship in Poole was so slow as all foot passengers could only exit out one door and elderly handicapped people were using that exit and had to take time going down the stairs
