Castaway Island Guide

The peculiarly named Castaway Island, known by locals as Qalito, is a remote resort to the west of Fiji and one of the many landmasses that make up the volcanic Mamanuca Islands archipelago. There are three daily sailings from the harbour to the mainland port of Denarau all operated by South Sea Cruises.

What’s on Castaway Island?
The Fijian resort is the perfect place to swim, eat and sleep in pure paradise. The luxury bures are located on the beachfront and surrounded by tropical gardens and there are a number of fantastic restaurants serving up delicious local delicacies. The island is not short of activities with tennis courts, surfing, windsurfing, gorgeous swimming pools and kayaking there for the more active. For those who want to get closer to the magnificent marine life there are dolphin safaris, snorkelling safaris and glass bottom boat tours. The scenery is breath taking and going on a bushwalk to this stunning islet is a must for visitors.

What services are there at the harbour?
Currently only one service leaves from Castaway Island. A fast South Sea Cruises ferry travels east to the town of Denarau on mainland Fiji a three times per day, a service that sails around the bottom of the island before skimming across the pristine surface of the South Pacific.
